Camden County 4-H’ers Succeed at N.C. 4-H Congress

This year, two Camden County 4-H’ers qualified to compete at State 4-H Presentations in Raleigh at NC State University on July 20, 2019. Avery Watson and Sadie Herzfeldt both competed at County Activity Day and then District Activity winning gold in their respective category allowing them to qualify for the State 4-H Presentations.

Image of Avery WatsonAvery Watson presented on how to create and use a first aid kit in the Safety category for youth ages 8-10 years old. She discussed how to use various items in a first aid kit given different scenarios. She won bronze!

Sadie Herzelfdt presented on dirt bikes in the Open Class Image of Sadie Herzelfdtcategory for youth ages 8-10. She discussed various elements of dirt bike, safety equipment needed, and the components of dirt bike racing. She won fourth place!

Both youths worked hard on their presentations for the last several months. They developed important public speaking and research skills. Congratulations to them both on their hard work!
