2024 Report To The People
Throughout 2024, the Camden County Extension Team dedicated themselves to serving the residents of Camden County. On March 3rd at the Camden County Board of Commissioners meeting Austin presented highlights of 2024 Extension programming & impacts, summarized in the infographic below. As part of the presentation two dedicated 4-H members, Gaitlyn and Grace, spoke about the impact 4-H has had on their lives. They shared how the program has contributed to their personal growth and helped them develop skills that support their daily success.
Gaitlyn, a senior at Camden Early College, has actively participated in the Teen Court program for the past four years. Grace, an eighth grader, is also involved in Teen Court and serves as a member of the Camden County 4-H Teen Council.
Both youth delivered outstanding presentations, expressing their appreciation for 4-H and discussing how they plan to apply the valuable lessons they have learned in their future endeavors.
The Camden County 4-H Foundation will be hosting a BINGO Family Fun Night to help raise funds to help support our local 4-H program. Come out for a night of fun!
BINGO cards will be sold for $10/pack and there will also be refreshments for sale. Cash or checks will be accepted.
Discover Camden County
We will travel Camden County and learn about history, explore the Dismal Swamp, enjoy Earth Day at Treasure Point, and visit our local first responders. Open to youth ages 8-12.
The fundraiser for the Eastern 4-H Center camping program, On the Dock of the Bay, which has been a cherished 4-H tradition in Tyrrell County for many years is being paused this year.
Instead, they are excited to announce that our next celebration will take place on May 2, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the Eastern 4-H Center. This milestone offers a unique opportunity to create an unforgettable event that honors our collective impact.
Though they won’t gather this year, their work continues. They are asking for your continued support of the programs and activities of the Eastern 4-H Center, particularly in providing camp scholarships for the upcoming summer. Your generosity ensures that children in need can experience the joy, growth and connection camp provides. Donations can be made online at go.ncsu.edu/eastern4hor via check payable to the NC Agricultural Foundation (memo: “Eastern 4-H Center”). Checks can be dropped off at the Center or mailed to:
