2024 County Activity Day

County Activity Day is our county’s annual talent and 4-H presentation competition. It’s time for youth to start preparing for 4-H Presentations and 4-H Entertains(Talent)! Registration must be done before May 1 by contacting the Extension office.

2024 4-H Summer Fun

This summer Richmond County 4-H is offering a variety of activities to keep youth having fun and learning throughout the summer. To register for camps, visit the 4-H office. All other registrations can be done on 4honline.com. For registration to be complete payment must be received by the 4-H office. Checks or cash with the exact amount can be brought to the 4-H office or checks can be mailed to 123 Caroline St, Suite 100, Rockingham, NC, 28379. For more information on individual activities please go to 4honline.com or contact 4-H Agent, Erin Barnes at 910-206-9542.

2024 4-H Camps

Every year Millstone 4-H Camps holds a variety of camps throughout the summer for youth age 5-16. For more information on each camp visit https://www.millstone4hcamp.com/ or call 910-997-8522. To register come to the 4-H office with a $50 per child deposit.

Haw River Canoe Day with 4-H

For ages 8+. Cost is $40. Youth will spend the day exploring the Haw River on a guided canoe tour. They will learn basic canoe skills while experiencing the local flora and fauna. Participants must bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a bagged lunch and wear sturdy water shoes. No flip flops. Please arrive at the 4-H office at 8:30 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. for pick up.

Sew Much Fun with 4-H

4-Hers will spend 4 hours a day learning sewing techniques, including Appliqué. By the end of the 5 days they will have created their own quilted wall hanging. Sew Much Fun will be held at the 4-H office and go from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day. Please bring a bagged lunch.

NC State Dairy Tour with 4-H

Learn how ice cream makes it from cows to your bowl. We will get a tour of the NC State Dairy Research and Teaching Farm in Raleigh, with a sample of their ice cream. Closed toed shoes are required. Please bring a bagged lunch and water. Drop off at the Extension office is at 8:00 a.m. and pick up is at 2:00 p.m. We will be leaving the office by 8:15 a.m.

4-H Farm to Table Cooking Day

We will start with a tour Berry Patch Farm in Ellerbe. Then a visit to their produce stand to purchase produce for toppings of a pizza we will make back at the 4-H kitchen. For ages 8 and up. Closed toed shoes are required. We will meet at the 4-H office at 8:30 a.m. and pick up will be at 1:00 p.m.
