N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is excited to host the NC MedAssist Mobile Free Pharmacy on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 120 Community Way in Barco. While Currituck County is serving as the host site, this event is open to all North Carolina residents and is designed to help families across the region access basic health resources at no cost.
The NC MedAssist Mobile Free Pharmacy provides free over-the-counter medications, including allergy relief, cough and cold medicine, pain relievers, children’s medicine, vitamins, and more. There are no income or insurance requirements, and no proof of residency needed. Individuals must be 18 or older to receive medications.
Community members have the option to pre order medications online between February 6 and February 27, 2026, allowing them to select items ahead of time and choose a convenient pickup window. Walk-ups will also be welcomed throughout the day, however all items are subject to availability. Participants may pick up medications for themselves as well as for friends or family members, helping extend support to households that may face barriers to accessing everyday health supplies.
