2025 Report To The People

Through the delivery of programs and research-based information, we serve in the areas of Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, and 4-H Youth Development to extend knowledge and enrich lives in Camden County. Altogether, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Camden County Center staff provided a total of 1,014 hours of educational instruction and reached 30,982 people in 2025. Educational efforts resulted in an economic impact valued at over $3,573,777. Through grants, user fees, sponsorships, and donations an additional $120,010 were acquired to assist in educational efforts. Extension volunteers donated 1,141 hours of their time adding a value of $39,696. To learn more about our 2025 highlights check out the infographic above.

4-H Horticulture Club

4-H Horticulture club meeting is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Pasquotank Extension Center at 6 pm. Our February meeting will be held on February 17th. This club is open to youth ages 5-18. Every month focuses on a different horticulture topic and features some kind of hands-on activity. 4-H Project Record Books


4-H Project Record Books give youth an opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and accomplished throughout a year. Project record books give you an opportunity to earn awards (monetary), be recognized, celebrate achievements, and show growth in your knowledge. We will hold a workshop to assist youth with completing these and submitting for county awards on February 17th where youth and parents can feel free to drop in anytime between 9am-3pm and have questions answered and receive help assembling their books.  Please find project record book forms on our website:

Intro To Food Preservation

Curious about canning, freezing, or preserving food at home? This introductory class will cover the basics of food preservation and safe methods to help you get started with confidence.  Pre-registration is recommended.

Healthy Cooking Demo for the Camden Center for Active Adults

We will conduct a healthy cooking at the Camden Center for Active Adults on Thursday, February 26th at 12:00 p.m.

4-H Youth Explore:  Build a Leprechaun Trap

Camden 4-H with the Camden Public Library will be hosting a Youth Explore STEM program on March 4th 3:30-4:30 p.m.  We will be building Leprechaun Traps.  Please keep an eye on the Camden Library Eventbrite page for registration information.  If the event is full please contact Rachel at the library (252-331-2543) to be added to a wait list.

Pear-Apple Jam Class

Learn how to make pear-apple jam in this fun, hands-on class led by Camden County’s Family & Consumer Sciences program. We’ll cover safe food handling, simple preservation methods, and practical tips you can use at home.
