Real Money Real World

With help from 13 community volunteers, students practiced budgeting and making everyday money choices. The activity helped students see how jobs, income, and unexpected costs affect their finances and showed them how education and career choices connect to future earnings.

4-H Horticulture Club

4-H Horticulture club meeting is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Pasquotank Extension Center at 6 p.m. Our January meeting will be held on January 20th and our February meeting will be held on February 17th. This club is open to youth ages 5-18. Every month focuses on a different horticulture topic and features some kind of hands-on activity. 4-H Project Record Books

4-H Clover with wording Project Record Books Due4-H Project Record Books give youth an opportunity to reflect on what they have learned and accomplished throughout a year. Project record books give you an opportunity to earn awards (monetary), be recognized, celebrate achievements, and show growth in your knowledge. We will hold a workshop to assist youth with completing these and submitting for county awards on February 17th where youth and parents can feel free to drop in anytime between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and have questions answered and receive help assembling their books. Intro To Food Preservation

Pear-Apple Jam

Learn how to make pear-apple jam in this fun, hands-on class led by Camden County’s Family & Consumer Sciences program. We’ll cover safe food handling, simple preservation methods, and practical tips you can use at home.

Albemarle Area Landscape School

The Albemarle Area Landscape School will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with registration. We will have guest speakers
from NC State University, NCDA, the Agrimedicine Institute, and local Extension
Centers. The intention of this program is to offer education to local landscapers
and green industry professionals on a variety of topics, including weed
identification, turf disease and management, outdoor labor safety, and pesticide
handling safety. Attending this program offers continuing education credits for
landscapers to keep their pesticide license up to date as well as Landscape
Contractor License. This annual program is a partnership between Pasquotank,
Chowan, and Currituck Extension Centers and serves green industry
professionals across the 8 most northeastern counties in North Carolina. This all-
day program is a fantastic opportunity for green industry professionals to
network with one another and gain industry specific knowledge locally, alleviating
the need to travel or pay for training and credits. Ewing Outdoor Supply is the
annual sponsor and will provide the opportunity for this to be a full day event for

The first Wednesday of each month Camden 4-H with the Camden Public Library will be hosting a Youth Explore STEM program.
