This is a free event and open to all, but you must register no later than May 25, 2020, at 5 p.m. The top 35 runners 18 years of age and under will receive a Clover Rover medal and the remaining runners will receive a 4-H Healthy Living Pin.

This is a great way to stretch your legs, have fun, and get some exercise!
  • A 5K is 3.1 miles
  • You must complete your race between May 30-June 3
  • Race timing will operate on the honor system
  • A google form will be sent to you to record your time until 5 p.m. on June 3

Preparing for your virtual 5K is almost as important as the event itself. Make sure you fuel your body with a healthy pre-run snack 1 to 2 hours before you are ready to run. Try these no-bake energy bites. They are also a great choice after you run as a recovery snack.

When it is time to run make sure your body is prepared for the task by warming your body up. Static stretches are stretches you hold for several seconds and are great for after a run. Before a run, you should try some dynamic stretches which are moving stretches that you do not hold. They typically warm up your joints and muscles. Try these dynamic stretches and then a short slow jog or run to warm up the body before you begin your run.
