Sleeping with the Sharks flyer

Join us on October 20 and 21, 2018, and sleep with the sharks! We will be joining Dare County 4-H for the fun, overnight trip to the Roanoke Aquarium. We will leave at 5 p.m. that Saturday night and head out to the aquarium, having dinner along the way. Once at the aquarium we will participate in several activities and enjoy the aquarium all to ourselves! We’ll sleep under the shark tank that night. We’ll leave at 8:30 a.m. following breakfast on the 21 and will return to the Extension Office at 10 a.m.

Youth will get to explore the aquarium and get hands-on experience with the marine life. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our natural world in a very friendly and exciting environment. We hope that your youth will join us.

There will be 5-7 youth spots (ages 8-12), as well as availability for 1-2 teen volunteers(ages 13-18), and 1-2 adult chaperones. The registration cost for youth is $60, $45 for teen volunteer, and the adult chaperone’s cost will be covered. Email ali_huber@ncsu.edu if you need assistance with the registration cost as some scholarship funds are available.

Youth will need to bring their own sleeping bag/blankets, pillow, PJ’s, change of clothes, and toothbrush.

Registration is available online. Your spot is confirmed when payment is received at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Camden County Center and 4HOnline registration is completed. Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Please email, ali_huber@ncsu.edu, to be added to the waitlist as we may be able to add more youth based on interest.
